Just doesn’t do its job
I honestly have a love-hate relationship with this thing but mostly hate. Ever since we got it it does not connect more than half the time it’s super fuzzy, super glitchy and either the voice function doesn’t work at all or it’s so choppy that I cannot understand a thing people are saying. It really is not good at all and honestly, I wish I hadn’t even bought it because the point of it was to be able to not only monitor our porch, but we have so many little kids constantly coming to our door and knocking and ringing multiple times and I wanted to be able to use the voice calling thing to tell them we weren’t at home or we couldn’t come to the door. I have a baby and sometimes I’m busy or trying to put him to bed and when people just keep ringing and knocking it isn’t helpful. And the fact that it doesn’t connect more than half the time means we can’t even monitor our porch. Sometimes we have people knocking a ringing and we don’t even get a notification and it won’t connect. So basically this is just a waste of money for us. We have done all the troubleshooting multiple times. We have unconnected and reconnected Wi-Fi multiple times. It is constantly saying it cannot connect to Wi-Fi or that my Wi-Fi is down and I need to check my router. But I have full functioning Wi-Fi with a great speed test score and that isn’t the issue. Something is wrong with this ring itself that makes it not connect to WiFi. We have even contacted support to no avail this is just not a good product. It doesn’t work.

Great - Remove faceplate to install
Install instructions didn’t mention that the faceplate pops off the front to access the screw holes. Here is a photo for anyone struggling to figure it out.

Clear Video And Easy Communication
We love our Ring Video Wired Doorbell! The visuals are very clear, and the voice is crisp as well. I also like that the app connects to your phone, making it easy to see and communicate with whoever is at the door. Works really well overall.

Nice door bell
I’ve had this for about 10months now. The functionality of the door bell is great. It works, It connected to my phone each time easily so I can take a Quick Look who is there. I will say when I bought it and set it up I didn’t know you had to pay for a subscription to keep it always recording and look back. So I was bummed, but the first month was nice. I also didn’t know I had to connect a new feature to the bell box to make it sound inside the house, so I haven’t changed that yet either.

Easy Install, Good Instructions, Security
I found this fairly easy to install. The hardest step was to remove a cover plate. I needed to use a plastic shim because the mount point wasn't flat, meaning parallel to the house wall, but it felt very secure once in place. Connecting to the home wi-fi was easy on the first try, but that might be a challenge if we ever have to remove the faceplate to reveal a reset button. I like the hardwire over the battery choice, given that we were replacing an existing doorbell. Instructions were good.

The quality of the night vision (see attached image, captured at 11:40pm) was so good that I later bought two exterior lights with motion triggered cameras. The camera's sensitivity can be lowered so that we don't get vehicle reports at those driving down the street, and a motion zone can be defined so that we don't get alerts when our neighbor takes her garbage can to the street.

We now have a way to see if someone at the door is a solicitor (ignore) or neighbor (answer).
